When your process demands that solids and liquids be reliably, continuously and efficiently separated, the separation equipment you choose matters enormously. The Sacor SADEC decanter centrifuge is engineered for exactly this challenge: delivering high-performance solid-liquid separation across some of the world’s most technically demanding industries.
What Is a Decanter Centrifuge and Why Does It Matter?
A decanter centrifuge is a continuous solid-liquid separation machine that uses high centrifugal force to separate solids from liquids in a slurry or suspension. Unlike batch separation methods, decanter centrifuges operate continuously, making them the preferred separation equipment choice for high-throughput industrial processes where consistency, efficiency and throughput are critical.
The principle is elegant: the feed slurry enters the rotating bowl at speed. Centrifugal forces, thousands of times greater than gravity, drive heavier solid particles to the bowl wall, where an internal screw conveyor continuously transports them to the discharge end. The clarified liquid exits separately, clean and recovered.
For industries ranging from mining to food processing, this process is not optional. It is the difference between a profitable operation and one that wastes product, water and energy. The quality of the separation equipment determines the quality of the outcome.
- Feed Entry
The initial feed slurry enters the rotating bowl through a central feed pipe, immediately subjected to centrifugal force. - Centrifugal Separation
Heavier solid particles are forced outward to the bowl wall. The screw conveyor continuously moves solids toward the discharge end. - Dual Discharge
Solids exit as a dry cake (solid phase). Clarified liquid overflows the weir plates and exits as the recovered liquid phase.
Introducing the Sacor SADEC – Separation Equipment Engineered to Perform
The SADEC is Sacor’s flagship range of decanter centrifuges, developed and refined through decades of centrifugal separation engineering. The name SADEC reflects what it does: Sacor Decanter, a machine conceived, designed and manufactured to deliver world-class separation results across the full range of industrial applications.
The SADEC range begins with the SADEC 10-40A model and scales up to meet the throughput and duty requirements of the largest industrial operations. Every unit in the SADEC range is built on the same core principle: state-of-the-art design combined with precision hi-tech manufacturing, resulting in separation equipment that is reliable, efficient and built to last in harsh operating environments.
